Khalsa College was founded in 1892 by the Singh Sabha Movement, a Sikh religious and social reform movement.

The college was established to provide higher education to Sikhs and Punjabis in Punjab, which was then under British rule.

The foundation stone of the college was laid by Maharaja Ranbir Singh of the princely state of Punjab.

The college’s first principal was Bhai Gurmukh Singh, a leading figure in the Singh Sabha Movement.

The college’s main building is in the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture, which is a blend of Indian and European architectural styles.

The college offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a variety of subjects, including arts, sciences, commerce, and engineering.

Khalsa College is one of the most prestigious colleges in Punjab and has produced many notable alumni, including politicians, bureaucrats, academics, and artists.

The college is also home to a number of museums and libraries, including the Sikh History Research Library, which houses a collection of rare books and manuscripts on Sikh history and culture.
