Based on Scott Turow’s NY Times best-selling novel and a feature film starring Harrison Ford by the same name, Presumed Innocent is an edge of your seat who done it/courtroom drama well worth watching after a long day on the beach. The eight-episode limited series stars and is executive produced by Jake Gyllenhaal along with executive producers J.J. Abrams and David E. Kelly. I’ve seen seven episodes of this outstanding limited series and was on the edge of my seat for each episode. Gyllenhaal plays the lead role of chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabitch with the intensity and passion that he brings to every project he’s in.

Rusty’s co-worker Carolyn Polhemus is brutally murdered, which sends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorney’s office when someone from their office is suspected to have committed the crime. The series is about power, infatuation, delusion, family, jealousy, and, of course, family. The cast is stellar and includes Elizabeth Marvel, Peter Sarsgaard, and Ruth Negga, who is wonderful as Rusty’s devoted wife, Barbara.
