STRUCTURE OF THE IELTS EXAM
The exam is based on four modules, each of which aims to test language proficiency, comprehension, and reciprocity.
1. Reading section: This section consists of 40 questions and 3 long passages designed to test a wide range of reading skills, including reading the main points, skimming, identifying logical arguments, and discerning the author’s opinions, attitudes, and intentions.
2. Listening Section: This module consists of 4 parts, each with 10 questions. The queries are specially designed so that the answers are displayed in the order they were heard in the audio recording. The audio includes a speech about local facilities, a discussion between two college students that may be led by a tutor, and a talk about travel arrangements.
3. Speaking section: This section he divided into three parts; the examiner asks different questions on different topics. The test lasts 11–14 minutes, and examiners score candidates using detailed assessment criteria.
4. Writing Section: One of the most difficult modules in the IELTS exam is the writing section, requiring attention to detail and grammatical accuracy. The module is divided into two parts: candidates must write a letter and an essay for the test.
