We have got the 20th edition of the most successful football game in the history: FIFA. That being said, i know it’s very late to post this. But, with the lack of career mode detailing, many users won’t be buying Fifa 21 which will be releasing on 6th October 2020 (per goal.com). Fifa 20 has a great gameplay as compared to the rival PES 20. But, there isn’t much expected from Fifa 21 as far as the career mode is concerned. So, i will focus more on this game only.

This article will discuss the common but effective tips and tricks you can have in order to have a realistic and more fun career mode.

1. Which team to select?

In Fifa 20, there are many 5 star, 4 star and 3 star teams as well. But usually anyone would go with the 5 star team if you want to splash in money in the transfer market to buy the top players. Having said that, here is the list of the teams with the highest transfer budget.

Always check the two boxes for a better experience.
Always check these two options.

Note: The transfer budgets for the selected teams will only appear if you check the “60% increase” option as shown in the above image.

(i) Real Madrid :- $ 340.6 million

(ii) Barcelona :- $ 339.5 million

(iii) Manchester United :- $ 336.3 million

(iv) Manchester City :- $ 335.52 million

(v) Bayern Munich :- $ 250.1 million

(vi) Paris Saint-Germain :- $ 241.7 million

(vii) Piemonte Calcio (Juventus) :- $ 208.4 million

(viii) Chelsea :- $ 172.9 million

(ix) Liverpool :- $ 149.6 million

(x) Arsenal :- $ 145.76 million

It is very common to start the career mode with the teams with the biggest budgets. But, do check the team sheets before starting the career. For instance, there is hardly any transfer budget difference between Real Madrid and Barcelona, but Real Madrid’s squad depth is much better and has a lot of young potential players than Barcelona. Be sure of this! 👊

2. Preseason

To be honest, as much as we want to make the Fifa gameplay realistic, to play the preseason matches is a complete waste of time. You will play one match and maybe SIM the rest of the matches which can cause unnecessary injuries to the players (sometimes). Plus, you don’t care about the little money you get after winning the preseason competition if you select a team which already has loads of money in the bank. 😐

Decline to participate 😐

3. Scouting

Yes, scouting a young and high potential player is important for your manager rating and also for the future of the team. You can hire a scout to look for a player who has a high potential rating and then loan that player for 3 or 4 seasons to get the best out of that player. This is the easiest and most efficient way of getting a player in your team if you intend to play the career mode for more than 10 seasons. 🙏

Hire the most experienced scout!

4. Financial Takeover

If you are thinking of starting a career with a mediocre team with a low transfer budget, you can use this option (by redeeming the points) which will drastically increase the team’s transfer budget. So, watch out for this option if you want to be a big money spender at the transfer market!!!

F**k FFP Rules😜

Use this option to buy Messi and Ronaldo 😝

5. Training

This is the most ignored yet most effective feature in the Fifa 20 career mode. This feature will help the young players grow more quicker that usual. When you manage your playing 11, substitutes and reserves, all the players that are in the reserves are the ones which are never played in any of the matches and the players who are quiet young. So, after you play every match, just use this option to train the young players and boost their rating. It will be worth investing some time in the training. 👍

Never miss out a chance to train your young players!

6. Release Clause

The release clause of the players can be big headache sometimes, but it comes with a benefit as well. The first thing i am going to talk about is the release clauses of your players. Lets say you start a career with Real Madrid and you have a release clause for Sergio Ramos ($ 72 million, in my case). Any team would be happy to pay that amount for a player like him. This becomes a headache, because, the players with this low release clauses are vulnerable to leave your club without notice (when you SIM the matches 😔 or don’t). To avoid losing your valuable player, you negotiate and offer a new contract to the player, without the release clause which will prevent any team to take away that player from your team. One advantage of having release clause is: you can easily buy a player without negotiating. For instance, if you want to buy Frankie de Jong from Barcelona in the second season, he might have a release clause around $ 136 million and if you negotiate with the player, the manager might ask you money which is way higher than $ 136 million. In this case, you save a lot of money.

Remove all the release clauses by negotiating a new contract with the player!

7. Loan young players

Checkout your full team and make sure you loan the young players you don’t wanna play with (for time being). This will surely boost their rating in few seasons. Be sure to loan players, but have enough squad strength in case of injuries and suspensions.

Loan young players to get the best ratings!

8. Block the players you want to retain in the team

Always use the feature of blocking the players which you want to play 100% in your team. This will avoid the unnecessary transfer offers from other clubs. This will save your time and you will only get genuine transfer / loan offers for the players you have listed in the transfer market.

Block the crucial players in your team!

9. Squad depth

Have enough players in the team to fill the position of a player in case of injuries and suspensions. This will help you retain the team balance and improve the chances of winning a match during the simulation. If you play a formation, lets say: 4–3–3. Then you must have a crucial striker and one important or rotation role player in your team. This will create a balanced team and you will be able to retain the player morale as well.

Have every position backed up!

10. Saving your game after every instance

There is a trick when you play career mode that helps you to retain your winning streak. Also, there might be some chances where your player gets injured during the simulation matches. In this case, do not save the game. Instead exit the career mode without saving and next time when you enter the same career mode, you will avoid the player injury because Fifa restores the last saved point in the career mode. Also, when you simulate the matches from the calendar and things does not go well (player injury or matches lost), you can exit the career mode without saving and start simulating matches again which will have a chance of winning game. (also, you might avoid long term injuries)

Do not save your game of you lose in the SIM match or your player gets injured.
