History indeed Arvind! The idea of micro-STPs certainly seems very appealing. It would be great of more communities took it up. Seems a lot easier than the complex network of pipes and what not needed for the more centralized solutions (which, as you right observe, may not materialize, any time soon or perhaps at all!).

Again, this harks back to the Gandhian idea of distributed, local governance. So also distributed, local sewage processing! Yes, seems about right, and going by the times, they seem about right too! Especially true if the defiling of the many lakes and ponds in the country is to become a thing of history …
