There are two main reasons why Shark Tank India has become a must-watch for many viewers:

  1. Learning Opportunity: Every pitch offers a chance to learn something new — whether it’s about innovative products, business terminology, exciting industries, market sizes, or valuable insights from the Sharks themselves.
  2. Product Discovery: Many of the products featured on the show are organic, healthy, and sustainable, piquing the interest of viewers and potentially turning them into lifelong customers.

In this article, I’ll discuss five interesting pitches from Shark Tank India Season 3 that caught my attention and have the potential to make a significant impact in their respective markets.

1. Wiselife: Premium Yoga Mats and Fitness Equipments

  • Wiselife is a brand that specializes in premium health and wellness equipments, particularly yoga mats. With a focus on design, comfort, and durability, their yoga mats are hand-printed and made from materials that offer superior grip and easy maintenance.
  • The fitness industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, with more people recognizing the importance of physical and mental well-being, especially in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Wiselife’s yoga mats address common issues faced by practitioners, such as discomfort, folding, and difficulty in cleaning.

2. Hyperlab: Interactive Athletic Training with Laser Technology

  • Imagine being able to transform any space into a personal performance lab with data-driven analytics. That’s precisely what Hyperlab’s flagship product, Helios, offers.
  • Inspired by the way cats playfully chase laser beams, a group of friends from Gujarat developed this innovative athletic training device.

  • The Sharks were so impressed with Hyperlab’s pitch that they increased the valuation beyond what the company had requested. Ultimately, Aman Gupta invested ₹25 lakh for a 1% equity stake in the company.
  • Hyperlab Helios is currently available for pre-order at just ₹199, with a final retail price of ₹34,999. You can pre-order your Helios device on their website: www.hyperlab.life/helios

3. Turms: Innovative Apparel Solutions

  • Have you ever experienced the frustration of spilling coffee on your favorite t-shirt or being self-conscious about the odor emanating from your gym socks?
  • Turms, a company that solves these exact problems, pitched an interesting concept on Shark Tank India.

  • Turms offers unique and innovative apparel products, such as stain-resistant t-shirts, jeans that can go 30 days without washing, and socks that remain odor-free for up to 7 days.
  • The company’s pitch revealed an intriguing backstory — one of the Sharks, Peyush Bansal, had previously invested in Turms but lost his entire investment due to the company’s struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the current pitcher had purchased the company from its founders when it was facing financial difficulties.
  • Impressed by Turms’ innovative products, Azhar Iqbal, one of the new Sharks on the show, invested ₹1.2 crore for a 4% equity stake in the company.
  • You can check out and purchase Turms’ unique apparel solutions on their website: www.urturms.com

4. Gud Gum: A Sugar-Free Chewing Gum Sensation

  • In a market segment with a relatively small size of around ₹300 crores, Gud Gum, a sugar-free chewing gum brand, managed to capture the attention of four Sharks.
  • The company secured an investment of ₹80 lakh for a 10% equity stake and a 3% royalty agreement.
  • The chewing gum market in India has historically been limited due to the small ticket size of the product and the perception that it is primarily used by smokers, limiting its appeal to a broader audience.
  • However, Gud Gum aims to challenge these notions by exploring how chewing gum can enhance performance for sports personalities through collaborations with sports psychologists.
  • I have been enjoying Gud Gum’s products for the past month and highly recommends giving them a try.
