Disclaimer:

This lesson applies mostly to social gatherings. Do not extrapolate it to other spheres of life for your own good.

The punchline, in case you don’t want to read fully:

Don’t take yourself too seriously. Relaxing in momentary discomfort is an awesome skill to learn

What sparked today’s Thoughts Afloat?

Me re-watching this video below as Christmas is around the corner. Looking back, this was one of the most fun memories of my life.

Forever thankful to my friend Gianluca for Christmas 2018

Context:

  • Being the only non-Italian in a completely Italian Christmas in Brescia

Did not think in my most random dreams — that I would ever be doing this.

Lessons Learnt — #NoteToSelf

  • Learn to let loose, little by little:
Easier said than done, so practice in smaller, less consequential moments.
A Christmas party in a different country with people you don’t know who might not remember next morning what transpired the previous night is a good enough occasion.
