All the New Kanye Presidential Domains Since Last Night
If you haven’t heard (and I’m sure you have), Kanye threw his hat into the ring as running for president in 2020. I guess it’s never too early!
I decided to take a look at all the domain names that have been registered by entrepreneurial types (or possibly, superfans?) in the 15 hours or so since he announced his bid at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Why? I’m interested in domaining not as someone who participates, but as an audience member. The prices domains go for, and the speed at which people try and capitalize on new events is fascinating! I’ll update this post with the domains on tomorrow’s list (since this happened late in the evening yesterday, I anticipate many registrations tomorrow. We’ll see).
All of the domains in this list were registered August 30th 2015 — August 31st 2015, and judging by the whois data, none of these were registered by Kanye, his label, or whatever company protects his brand (such as Mark Monitor).
Live Sites
Special mention goes to Kanye2020.com, which looks slick and official, and kanye2020.org, which is selling branded swag already.
Only a small handful of sites are live. Some, like KanyeWest2020.com and Kanye2020.net forward to existing sites, of people looking to get visitors to their affiliate sites, or bring awareness to their event.
