Great article Anil. It evoked another memory for me. A few years back, after the Space Shuttle fleet was retired, NASA sent the Enterprise Prototype here to NYC to be displayed on the USS Intrepid. I got up very early that morning, and drove down to the Pier in Red Hook, with the Statue of Liberty clearly in sight. It was an overcast day, and about 50 or so of us waited with baited breath to see the modified 747 that would be carrying the Shuttle that never flew in space. After about a 30 minute wait, it appeared, flying directly over the Statue of Liberty. I’m not a super patriot by any stretch of the imagination, but that day made me prouder than ever to live in America.
