MTV is now over 35 years old, if you’re of an age like me you will remember the indents the energy and how this was probably the first ‘flexible brand’.

The M was used well for everything, it would house images, animations and as for colour palettes they were truly RGB first. It’s an identity that is ageless in its approach, truly ahead of its time, playful, non-restrictive and totally brilliant.

‘Google’ the MTV logo and see the craziness and creativity through the 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s if only other brands were like this.

We can learn a lot for MTV and it’s anything goes creative policy, lets not feel too restricted to what we might think a brand is, maybe go crazy and overtime it becomes the new ‘norm’? Thank you MTV for reminding me that you really were the 1st flexibile, RGB first brand.
