As an industrial & Interface designer …The article is way misleading …….will explain by points..

  1. it is not it used to be industrial stuff like designing tables, chairs..but now it’s super different…. now also lot of designers learning industrial design nothing changes…now yes everything is getting more digital doesn't mean that everything changes to app….
  2. You dont need to know how to draw anymore…..that is because ppl like you dont know what is the pleasure of drawing sketching….that gives a amazing sense of feel that not any digital product can replace…. the sketches what you shown there are car sketches…for transportation design..obviously you need to know sketching…with out that you cannot convey any ideas…
  3. Going to design school…that is a personal choice…from my experience i will suggest to take it…u know a lot of stuff that u would not have experienced anywhere else…basic tools and techniques…
  4. Final point ..It seems UX is now hot and you are in a real rush to make money which exactly shows your final point too…I am not telling money making is not important …
