Give me something to hope for ..
A bungalow near the shore ?
Marrying the loved one ?
Dream job with a dreamy salary ? — Whats’ your happy dream about the future ?
Can You say me how it feels to have a “Happy future dream” ?
For all I ever had about my future were nightmares. The worst nightmares accompanied by silent tears ….
Its not just me who is cursed to have only night mares. There are millions of us — but you may not have noticed us — For our nightmares and tears are locked inside our closet.
Its’ true that ignorance is bliss. The moment you realize you are different and if you happen to live in a country like India, your happy dreams come to stop.
Funny isn’t it ? We have a law that states,
“All citizens are equal in front of law irrespective of caste, creed, sex or religion ” …
But I don’t even get the right to dream happily about my future.
May be it should have been written as “All citizens are equal in front of law irrespective of caste, creed, sex, sexual orientation or religion ”
It was when I was around fourteen, I started realizing that I am different. After that it was an emotional turmoil everyday.
In a country where a majority population thinks homosexuality as a disease or western culture, you do not just go up to someone and say that you are gay. You decide to stay in closet and try to lead a normal life.
Living a life as such isn’t easy.
Your whole life feels fake and empty for the people around you see only the “fake straight version” of you. You desperately act to keep up your cover.
Every straight love story that unveils in front of you will make you wonder if you’ll ever fall in love.
One day you will feel frustrated…
You would want to open up to someone. Pour your heart all out. Come out of the closet once in for all.
Then, you realize that you live in a country where a law like 377 exists stating that “ you are not just different but also unlawful ” and the closet pulls you back in again.
That moment, you question yourself, the reason for your existence. You question yourself if you have something to hold on to. You try to find a reason to convince yourself not to die.
If I find a reason — I’ll live inside my closet … Else ?
Is being gay, a grave sin that we are denied of our right to exist ?
I beg you, on behalf of the millions like me with nightmares and silent tears ..
Give us something to hold on to …
Please let us have a happy future dream ………
Please let us have a reason to live …..
#Take down 377
