Crafting The Morning’s Excuse Note

11, January 2017

Dear Ms. Flewellyn,

Please excuse Jedidiah from Science class today (perhaps someone could put him on the playground swings where he’s promised he will oscillate quietly for the duration).

Jed and I were discussing the circular error in the pendular operation of a grandfather clock last night and he became overly emotional at the thought of someday losing his beloved Pop-Pop, whom I can assure you is doing quite well for a man of his age.

I suspect Jed’ll be out of sorts for the balance of the week but please know that he is enjoying third grade and is looking forward to your upcoming lecture series on saws, bellows and pumps.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Andrea M. Gerstle
(Jedidiah’s mom)
