Teacher
Happy Teacher’s Day!

A little you went to the school
Away from home for the first time
You cried your heart out wanting to run away,
She welcomed you with a smile on her face
She took your tiny hand in hers and took you the unfamiliar place
That place was the school and she was your teacher
— — —
She sang ABCD with you she danced with you everyday
You smiled at her and that made her day
She taught you to read and write
She knew how to handle you when you cry
Like a mother, she was patient
Like a father, she was strong
Like a friend, she was sweet
She was no one but your teacher
— — —
She wanted you to fly high
She wanted you to be a good human being
She gave you wings but kept you on ground
Till the time you can handle yourself well
She knew it all
She was no one but your teacher
— — —
She became your third parent along with mom and dad
She was as close to you as your friend
You too, loved her with a lot of respect
Remember you told your parents, “My teacher has asked me to brush teeth twice a day!”
For you, her word was ultimate
For you, she was the role model
For you, she was more than a parent
She was no one but your teacher
— — —
This day of the year is so strange
Makes me remember all of her
A day is not enough to celebrate her
She lies in my heart all the time
She is the reason what I am today
She made me strong, she made me soft
She taught me to think, she taught me to solve
Her teachings of morals and ethics won’t leave me for a moment
She is no one but My Teacher!

Happy Teacher’s Day to all those who are shaping the next generation! 😃
Today, 5th September is celebrated as Teacher’s Day in India to celebrate teacher’s contribution to the country in the memory of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, 2nd President of India who was a teacher himself. This day was his birthday and it is celebrated since 1962. On this day, regular activities are replaced with celebrations where students of senior classes become teachers for all other classes and teach them regular subjects. Other activities include thanks giving and remembrance of teachers.
