VIVA is grateful for the opportunity to be invited for an AMA yesterday on the ViteX Telegram group. During the AMA, we shared numerous updates on our recent developments, our expansion approach and future growth plans. ICYMI, here’s a transcript of the AMA hosted by Joel Yang (Head of Marketing, Vite Labs) and Inufinity (Core team of VIVA)!

Transcript of AMA

Joel: Hello! Thanks for joining us for an AMA with Viva! Today our guest is inufinity, a core team member of the VIVA project. Welcome!

Inufinity: Hi everyone! Thanks for having me today, and I’m really happy to be here representing VIVA :)

Joel: We are gonna talk to inufinity today and ask him to share some interesting aspects of the VIVA project. You will also get a chance to ask him your burning questions at the end of the AMA. The chosen questions will be rewarded with VIVA airdrops! Now let’s begin.

Inufinity: Let’s do it :)

Joel: Since the project launched, the VIVA project has been growing steadily. Could you tell us how you guys got started?

Inufinity: A group of VITE enthusiasts thought the network could really use a staking protocol to take advantage of the zero fee infrastructure. We started in 2021 but the momentum really started picking up in 2022. Our goal is to become the go-to DeFi platform on VITE!

Joel: Nice! We know that you guys talk about the juicy rewards all the time. Why has the team chosen a watermelon for its logo? What is the significance of the watermelon?

Inufinity: Well, you said it! because of our juicy rewards! but there’s also a story behind it. Google “Viva La Vida” and check out the images. You will see either the Coldplay album/song or a watermelon painting by Frida Kahlo.

We didn’t want to reference Coldplay so we went ahead with Frida’s painting, which (fun fact) is also featured on our Twitter account as the banner. And that was how we ended up with the whole watermelon theme, which was purely accidental!

Joel: That’s accidental indeed. Let me google Viva La Vida now. https://www.google.com/search?q=viva+la+vida&sxsrf=ALiCzsahQGYCYKqtfvujnSA471vgZp7XgQ:1651334805721&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj87__Dlbz3AhWQkYkEHcb5DKMQ_AUoAnoECAIQBA&biw=1440&bih=793&dpr=200:07

Very cool.

Inufinity: it will be VIVA logo there as top search soon

Joel: That would be even cooler!

So, clearly you have a team of very interesting and creative people. Who are the team members of VIVA and can you tell us more about them?

Inufinity: As you can probably imagine, we are a team of Vite enthusiasts!

First of all, we have a very strong and talented development team comprising jliu, nilesh, wittyambivert, who are working tirelessly to bring us cool features on VIVA!

Our development team is led by Matt, who is the programming wizard behind Viva and is currently training lots of interested devs to contribute to our fast-growing protocol. His code is much more organized than his desk, and he hates it when his programs run slower than him :p

Enygma is one of our core team member. He a retired business owner, a tech optimist and thinks web3 is very cool.

Ray, another core team member, is a do-gooder and crypto enthusiast. He likes that Vite is environmentally friendly and has its own very unique features. Ray is short for Ray of Light. He highly recommends that album by Madonna.

I’m Inufinity and I like to learn new things and enjoy working on community projects during my free time. I work closely with Tom, Have and Nanoshi to manage our partnerships and socials.

Joel: That’s a big team!

Inufinity: We are still growing!

Joel: So, there are a lot of projects developing on the VITE ecosystem, Vite just rolled out a Vuilder Launchpad Program incentivizing more projects to be built on VITE- https://medium.com/vitelabs/vuilder-launchpad-program-b4203712dec1 Tell us what makes VIVA different?

Inufinity: First of all, we look forward to supporting the development of these projects and we think that continual growth of the ecosystem is mutually beneficial for these projects and VIVA.

At VIVA, we strive to add value to the ecosystem and community. Specifically, we aim to contribute in areas that are underserved. As such, you will notice that we are very deliberate in our strategy, approach to expansion and execution.

For example, one of our core business focus is to drive Total Value Locked (TVL) on VITE and our development efforts are focused on delivering this outcome. Our ambition, combined with our focus, will enable us to propel VIVA quickly in the right direction.

Joel: This is totally aligned with what we would like to see at Vite Labs. And we are happy that you guys are doing it.

VIVA is issued on the VITE blockchain. Could you tell us why you guys have decided to build the project on VITE?

Inufinity: We wanted to be the first DeFi for the VITE chain. We definitely love the fast and fee-less nature of transactions! We believe that this is a strong competitive advantage and there is huge potential to grow on VITE.

At the same time, we appreciate the support and enthusiasm from Vite Labs, the community and our partners. We will return the favor by continuing to add value to the ecosystem!

Joel: Very well. We would like to see more coming from you guys and more Vuilder projects built on Vite!

$VIVA is now listed for trading on ViteX, any plans for the next step in terms of listing $VIVA?

Inufinity: Yes, definitely. Something good like VIVA, we’ve got to share it with the world ;)

We are working towards a listing on a decentralised exchange (DEX) in Q3 and a centralised exchange in Q4.

Joel: Cool. Speaking of the future, on your roadmap, there are a few interesting projects that the VIVA team is pursuing, such as the no-loss lottery pools, VIVA Games, stake to earn NFTs. Could you please tell us more about each one of them?

Inufinity: Sure. Let me first start off with sharing about our no-loss lottery pools.

As you may be aware, we have recently merged with ViteTogether to introduce no-loss lottery pools for the community. Users can stake $VITE in these pools for a chance to win $VIVA rewards, any $VITE staked is preserved and not lost.

5% of rewards will also be set aside to (1) fund staking pools and (2) be distributed to $VIVA holders. This will ensure greater utility and sustainability for $VIVA.

We have also been working with game developers to integrate games with rewards in $VITE and other tokens! The first of many VIVA games to be launched is called “Viva Feva”, which will be released in May. The goal of VIVA Games is building a platform to bring the community closer together through interactive games!

Here’s a sneak peak fresh off the oven! https://twitter.com/VivaStakingPool/status/1520387984830255104?s=20&t=pe4S4SWZ1QJdyBjajU2_XA

We will also introduce a novel concept of staking $VITE to earn NFT. As some of us could remain skeptical about the NFT space and may not necessarily want to pay to own one, we want to offer a way for anyone to own an NFT simply by staking $VITE on our staking pools for a stipulated time period.

We believe that this will help to lower the barriers of entry into the NFT space given that your staked $VITE is preserved when the pool expires and you do not need to pay a hefty sum for the NFTs. In doing so, VIVA will also be providing a launchpad for the community to get acquainted with budding NFT creators and their projects.

Joel: Oh wow. What a name! Viva Feva makes me laugh a bit. Well, I’m sure the Vite Fleet can’t wait to catch this type of feva.

A slight change of subject. For you personally, what’s the most exciting part about getting involved in VIVA?

Inufinity: Being the first DeFi on VITE chain means that we are building everything ground up. I also like how the team enjoys experimenting with novel concepts, rather than simply copying something that has already worked before.

I mean the DeFi space is really early, we’re just getting started and there’s just so much room to be creative and to create value!

Joel: We at Vite Labs do appreciate the innovation and creativity, which is why we are sponsoring various hackathons and bounties to have more tools/protocols built on Vite.

Looking into the future, what can the community expect from VIVA over the next 1–2 months?

Inufinity: I have discussed earlier about the developments to expand the utility of VIVA e.g. our merger with ViteTogether to introduce no-loss lottery pools and DeFi games such as Viva Feva. The VIVA team is working hard to bring these developments to you soon.

In addition to the above, we are also working on multiple partnerships to further increase the variety of staking pools on our platform, giving our community even more choices to earn passive returns.

We have built up good momentum in the past 1 month. To thank our community for the strong support, we will be organising some celebrations on our socials, starting right after this AMA.

We will be running airdrops and rains on our Telegram group immediately after the AMA, join us and make some friends! https://t.me/vivastakingpools.

Tomorrow, we will also be burning 6.25 million VIVA, join us on Discord for the burn party, details will be announced on our social media! https://discord.gg/bN9Teqnxq3

Also, to celebrate the one-month anniversary of our ViteX listing on 7th May, we will be launching the following:

  • Our first ever lottery pool, follow our Twitter (https://twitter.com/VivaStakingPool) and look out for our announcement on how to participate!
  • Locked VIVA > VIVA staking pools with high, minimum guaranteed APRs. Our current contract v0.4 allows the pool requestor to set a maximum limit on the tokens staked, as such ensuring a minimum guaranteed APR. We will launch 2 such pools with min 30% APR and 50% APR, which will require a minimum deposit of 500,000 VIVA locked for 1 month and 1,000,000 VIVA locked for 2 months respectively. This is a good chance to accumulate VIVA if you haven’t done so.

Joel: Now I can see why you guys are expanding. Looking further, where do you think VIVA will be in 2 years’ time?

Inufinity: The developments that we have announced so far are only the tip of the iceberg. We are currently planning several new features which could further change the game and provide greater utility for $VIVA. Suffice to say, we want to transform $VIVA to be the go-to platform for all users to save, earn, trade, game and much more.

Also, the team will like to challenge ourselves. Even if we were to imagine a certain growth trajectory for VIVA in 2 years, we want to be able to achieve it in an even shorter time. The project has achieved good momentum in the past month, and we want to continue building on the strong support from our community and talented team that we have.

We hope you are as excited as we are about $VIVA’s future

Joel: Great! All right. Now enough of me asking questions, I’ll open up the floor and let’s hear from the audience their burning (or should I say juicy) questions for Viva.

Inufinity: Yes definitely, happy to take questions from the floor. We will also be rewarding each question I pick with 1000 VIVA at the end of this AMA.

Selected Questions during Q&A

thao luong: Does Viva have a competitor?

Inufinity: We are the first DeFi on Vite, if there is competition, we are happy to have inspired them to follow in our footsteps. For the team at VIVA, we are focused on what we want to build and achieve, and I believe you will be able to see this difference in our execution.

MD YASIN: What is the marketing plan of viva?

Inufinity: In the short-term we want to focus on the fundamentals, upgrading features, improving user experience, bringing greater utility to VIVA. We believe building a good product will help us bring in new users, through word of mouth.

In the mid term, we will focus on getting listed on the prominent DeFi aggregators platforms. We are already listed on https://defillama.com/ and made it to Top 10 Lists on several other social media pages tracking DeFi platforms. The marketing plan will be different from what you are used to seeing on CT.

anonymous_cat: How will you get funds for new pools? Can you depend on SBP for everything?

Inufinity: There are 2 other methods to fund new pools:
1. Through fees collected from Viva Games
2. Through strategic partnerships that we have established, the most recent one being ViCat and EPIC

We are developing several other means to fund new pools, and they are in the planning phase.

VishU: We can get more info about Viva games?

Inufinify: We also cannot wait! We want to bring you these updates as soon as we can. Check out our developer wittyambivert latest tweet, https://twitter.com/WittyAmbivert/status/1520384854390714368?s=20&t=pe4S4SWZ1QJdyBjajU2_XA, where he briefly outlined the gameplay for our first game!

If you have ideas for community games, do reach out to me and we will see what we can do.

Beluga: Is there any chances of seeing farms in viva just like we have in pancakeswap?

Inufinity: Yes this is one of those things, not yet announced, but in the planning phase. I’m glad you brought it up.

Alessandro: Are viva games NFT games?

Inufinity: Nope, not limited in any shape or form.

Closing Remarks

Joel: Thank you all for joining today’s AMA with the Viva team. Before we go, inufinity, do you have any final thoughts?

Inufinity: Once again, I will like to thank the ViteX team for having me and Matt here today and everyone who has taken time to be a part of the AMA.

I hope that I have provided you with a better understanding of the VIVA project. We will also be having a post-AMA party in our official Telegram group (https://t.me/vivastakingpools) with airdrops and rains! See you there! Thank you everyone!

Joel: Thank you inufinity and thank you all for attending! Good day or good night, wherever you are!
