GM Diet : 2nd time

Here’s the information of my first trial

Start Date: 9th September

Start weight: 79 Kgs

Day 1 (Fruits Day)

(Weight : 79 Kgs)

Morning(10:00 AM): 1/4 Watermelon (Medium Sized), 1 sweet lemon, 1 kiwi

Noon(12:00–2:00): Custom Wonder Soup (Recipe at the end of this page)

Evening(4:00): 1/4 Watermelon (Medium Sized)

Evening(6:00): 1 Papaya

Lot of water after each fruit.

Day 2(Vegetables Day)

Morning(9:00 AM): 1 sweet potato with 1 spoon of butter

Late morning(11:30 AM): Mixed vegetable salad (boiled and tossed) (Vegetables: Onion, Cabbage, Bottle Guard, Chayote, Long green beans)

Afternoon(1:00 PM): Custom wonder soup

Late afternoon(2:30 PM): Mixed vegetable salad

Evening(7:00 PM): Mixed vegetable salad

Night(8:00 PM): 1 cucumber

Late Night (10:30 PM): 2 cucumber

Lot of water after each vegetable.

Day 3(Fruits and Vegetables Day)

Morning(10:30 AM): 1 musk melon, 1 Guava

Afternoon (12:30 PM): Mixed vegetable salad (Long green beans, beetroot, cabbage)+ Tomato Onion gravy

Late afternoon(3:00 PM): 1 cucumber

Evening (4:00 PM): Mixed vegetable salad (Tomato, Onion and Ladies Finger)

Late evening (6:00 PM): 2 Kiwis, 1 Guava

Night (8:30 PM): 1 bowl watermelon

Day 4(Banana and Milk Day)

Morning (9:00 AM) : 2 small bananas and buttermilk

Late Morning (11:00 AM): 1 glass hot skim milk

Afternoon(1:00 PM): 2 small bananas and hot milk

Evening(4:00 PM): 2 glasses of buttermilk

Night (7:00 PM): 2 small bananas

Late Night (9:00 PM): Mixed Vegetable Salad (Onion, Long green beans, Cabbage, Cucumber)

Day 5/Day6/Day7 (Rice, Vegetables and Fruits)

Day 5 : Brown Rice Tomato Bath, Legumes Dosa (a.k.a Ade dosa in kannada)

Day 6: Brown Rice with Sambar, Chapathi

Day 7: Poori, Brown Rice with Sambar, Brown Rice with Vegetables & legumes

Custom Wonder Soup Recipe

  1. 3 Onion
  2. 2 Tomato
  3. 2 Capsicum
  4. 1 beetroot
  5. 10 pieces of long green beans
  6. Salt, Jeera Powder, Pepper, Chilly Powder
  7. Lot of water

Result

End weight: 77 Kgs

I just lost 2–2.5 Kgs this time. I weighed 79Kgs when I started. I now weigh 77Kgs.

Frankly, I am disappointed with the GM Diet 2nd time results. It was equally hard as first time and I followed it to the dot, well almost. I guess, the reason it didn’t work so well this time is because I had already shed the weight that could be shed by a diet of this type. I am even successfully able to maintain it for more than a month now.

I won’t sweat it, I’ll take it easy and patiently. I know I’ll get there :)

Learnings

  1. There’s no need to do it repeatedly every month. It didn’t help me. Maybe once in 3 months if you have a lot of weight to shed. Just once, if you are just planning to reduce a few kgs.
  2. I felt very tired during the first 3–4 days of this diet. My thoughts and emotions took a small hit as well.
  3. If you reduce lot of weight by this method, you will feel great, because you did it in just 7 days. But it’s not something that I recommend for long term weight loss/maintenance.
  4. I still need to shed off 4–5 Kgs to become the ideal Normal that I’m looking for. But I’ll not follow GM Diet again to achieve that. I’ll achieve that through the right food at the right times and lot of intense exercise.
