Are you looking for a girls day out or romantic summer day-date activity? Pop-up Picnics the easiest (and most fun) way to organize one! Almost every Saturday this summer, you can reserve a (surprise!) picnic to enjoy at Malibu Wines. All you have to do is show up! Each week features a menu from a different LA restaurant, and this past weekend was Joan’s on Third, with a surprise cupcake dessert appearance from Sweet Lady Jane. The tablecloth, flowers, and everything else is provided for you.

In our cooler-bag, there were a variety of three types of cheeses, olives, ham & cheese sandwiches, a lentil salad, crackers, fresh berries, pistachios, apples, bread slices, waters, and chocolates.

All of the food items were delicious, but if you ask me, the biggest appeal of the picnic is all the attention to detail. I loved the adorable decorations. Note the mason jar, heart tissue paper, doilies, colorful mini plates, paper flags, flower napkins, and fresh orchids scattered about.

All the picnics are reserved and prepaid for online. The day before, the owner sends you a text message with contact information. On the day of, you just walk in, tell them your name, and you are presented with a beautiful picnic! No shopping, no lugging anything — what a great way to have a beautiful meal ready and waiting for you.
