There can be various times when students go through the moment where they aren’t able to recall a particular name or the event they attended. Students are the one who lives in the extreme stress in university, making notes, preparing for tests, etc., and to cope up with everything, it’s very important that they have an active mind.
The physical activity is becoming more less and when a student or anyone for that matter will not indulge in actual physical activity, they can’t have a mind that stays active all the time. Here are some tips you can follow to bounce back and have a healthy mind so that you can easily focus on your academic and personal life.
Play Video Games
It may sound like a demented idea but it’s a very capable tool to train your mind to stay alert and always be present at the moment. These games improve hand-eye coordination and help you in seeing multiple things around you. You will not need to actually look at the thing to know what’s going on. All-in-all, a video game can help you stay alert all the time.
Mind Exercises
Indulge yourself in some mental exercises to strengthen it. You can try out a new hobby or read a book of a very different genre that you never explored before. These things will help your mind to actually participate in something new. You will be able to focus better and become creative with your thought process.
Spelling Games
The spelling game is also a very practical tool to improve your mental stability. You can mix multiple languages and play with your friends or online, as you like it. What it basically does is it forces your mind to think before you speak or write down. This is a skill that most of us lack these days.
Increase Physical Activity
If your body is healthy, there are very high chances that your mind is also just fine. If you stay in one place and don’t get in much physical activity, you will not stay fit for a long time. You must exercise daily to keep your mind and body active. I am not saying that you have to do heavy gym sessions, walking a 3–4 km every day will just serve the purpose.
Try Puzzles
There are multiple types of puzzles that you can try. For example, a crossword puzzle will exercise your memory side of the brain whereas a jigsaw puzzle will be helpful in determining your parietal lobes get exercised. When you think you are getting hold of it, be creative and twist the game. You can try the crossword just in your mind and try to remember all the words. It will also act as a homework helper where you will be able to learn any lessons easily.
Do Hand-work
Try to do something that requires fine detailing, not by machines but your hands. It will increase mind-to-hand coordination and your focusing ability will be improved. You can try out taking lessons of playing any musical instrument. You can also try building model toys where you can go as much detail as you want.
Improve Your Sense Organs
We often can’t enjoy the full experience of a particular place or a food because we don’t let our sensory organs to actually know what’s going on. For example, while eating your daily meal or when trying out a new dish, try to get a taste of all the ingredients and spices. It will help you in making use of your sense organs to enhance the experience that you are missing on.
