Hisar the most beautiful City

The city of Hisar was founded in 1354 AD by a Muslim ruler, Firozshah Tughlaq. “Hisar” is an Arabic word meaning “fortress”. The city we now know as Hisar was originally called Hisar Firoza (also Hisar-e-Firoza) or in other words the Fortress of Firoz. But as days passed, the word “Firoza” was dropped from its original name. It was in these lands that the very first evidence of human presence was discovered with the excavations of Agroha, Banawali, and Kunal. All of these were the pre-Harappan settlements, which brought us the very first images of the prehistoric period, the presence of the pillar in the Hissar

The initial phase of the city was said to have been completed after two and a half years of uninterrupted work, and the Sultan also ordered the nobles and amirs to build residences here. The buildings were constructed with lime and burnt bricks. The fortified city had four gates, later named Delhi Gate and Mori Gate on the east, Nagori Gate on the south, and Talaqi Gate on the west.
