King Cotton

King Cotton is a huge example of racism booming the American Economy. To put it short, slaves were NOT in demand in America. People wanted to do their own work and make their own money. When cotton was found to be resourceful, slaves were put to work in droves. Slaves eventually became the new currency, essentially being the same as paper money.
