Introduction

At times, deep introspection leads to uncommon experiences that feel so real, but are rooted at a spiritual level. Life and death are ultimate realities with many spiritual layers. We often compare them with creation, destruction, light, and darkness. We often do not realize that many professions dealing closely with life and death subconsciously create an aura of divinity. The more power to influence the cycle of life and death, the more we tend to admire or be wary of that role. If you do not believe me, visualize an executioner from the Middle Ages standing right beside you. That is so much like the Grim Reaper from fiction, isn’t it? This blog is a prime example of a spiritual experience that comes from an unorthodox tangent of thought.

A Soldier and A Doctor

On one end, we have a soldier, an individual armed with training and assault weapons, with live ammunition, meant to take lives. The only reason we do not visualize that person as a grim reaper is because the profession is duty-bound by a code of honor, rules of engagement, and globally accepted Geneva conventions.
