Black, when used to describe the American ethnic group, should be capitalized. Black was adopted in the 60s as an political appellation, demonstrating our power to name ourselves. The MSM has made it overt policy to never capitalize the b, denying the group name legitimacy, relegating us to a diminutive, always. Microaggression of language which also strikes me as another form of cultural misappropriation.
