The most ridiculous part of this “scandal” is that all the official alternatives available to Clinton were worse. The state department email system does not archive, is painful to use, and has been compromised by Russian hackers. The so-called SCIF employed Private Manning. The NSA, which was supposed to help, employed Ed Snowden at the time. The OPM was subcontracting its own system to a company that employed Chinese nationals living in China as sysdamins and lost millions of deeply personal detailed personnel investigations of government employees. All this is easy to look up, but the press is incapable.
