Why Productivity matters
Imagine your life as being a series. You have the pilot episode “And so it begins”. After a bunch of episodic memories, consciousness intervenes and hence, we start creating our path. 7–14 years can be entitled: “Bricks” due to its constructive experiences. 14–22 years can be “Step by Step” and now we started playing “ In the middle of something”. Chances are, in every single episode of your life, you will encounter somebody with astonishing productivity skills.
Meaning that type who actually pisses you off with his insane commitment, a certain vibe of “calm enthusiasm”.The coach with a meticulous work ethic, the professor who has time for every single one of his pupils or the colleague which makes everything looks so damn easy. This meant one thing: Investigation- finding out the recipe of their pixie dust! This type of productive approach is like a beautiful mechanism that always has things within his reach. So what is the true meaning of productivity?
What is Productivity?
Perceive is as a time-quality index. Getting things done, with less time and less effort. Having the capacity to work smarter to achieve efficiency. Economically speaking is the measure of output per unit of input. Or the amount of time, resources and effort you’re investing in achieving the task at hand.
You recognize productivity when things are running smoothly, like the brush of a wild artist in the midst of peak creativity. The canvas is then transformed into a masterpiece, meaning every task at hand is a work of art. But more precisely, why do we need to be productive?
Why do we need Productivity?
What is the most important resource that we have as human beings? It’s Time- hence, being productive means making the most of your time and this alone can be a decisive argument. Place that in the present context of digitization and will be an even more convincing reason.
The digital era is bringing a dynamic environment, one that requires to adapt in a constant manner. So many distractions are knocking in your search bar and so many changes are occurring due to technologies velocity. As a result, being productive can be seen as accomplishing your goals, desires etc. without the feeling of running out of time. Not to mention that depression, anxiety can be counteracted if you shape your lifestyle through productivity.
How to achieve productivity?
The most important asset required here is Mindset. Frankly, it’s broad so let’s explain a bit: mindset means having a set of beliefs transposed into a mental attitude. Having the right beliefs and practising constantly to counteract biases is a key feature in being productive.
The right mental attitude is paving the way for the next element needed: Discipline. Translated into habits, this means respecting a code of behaviour imposed by yourself. Tim Ferris, a successful entrepreneur and author recommend 5-morning rituals for “ winning the day”!
And the last element will be tools. From the very beginning, humans have invented and used tools for making their lives easier. Nowadays, the tools I’m referring to are software apps that enhance productivity. Several communication platforms, digital notebooks, storage services, artificial intelligence-driven apps or meditation apps can help you become more productive.
Needless to say, productivity and technology are one of the best partnerships out there. And while advancements are happening at a staggering pace, it’s essential for our happiness to learn how to better adapt. One sure step is to understand its importance and the means to become more efficient in your life- thus a warm advice would be: start painting!
