3 Basic Building Blocks For Shaping Your Mindset — And Producing Great Results

Nothing affects your results more than your mindset: your habitual way of thinking. Ultimately, your outer world is a reflection of your inner world. Your life is a reflection of your thoughts. Change your mindsets, change your results.

To achieve great results, you need great mindsets. It’s that simple.

The good news is that you, like a muscle, you can shape your mindsets. In particular, there are 3 basic building blocks of mindset mastery.

Building Block 1: Absorption

The information you absorb on a continuous basis influences your mindsets greatly. The books you read, the music you listen to, the shows you watch, the websites you consult regularly, etc. — all impact your mindsets.

I’m sure you’ve heard about the GIGO principle: Garbage In Garbage Out. If you consume “garbage”, you’ll produce “garbage” in your life.

What you sow in your heart you reap in your life. If you don’t like what you’re reaping in your life (your results), change what you’re sowing in your heart (what you absorb).

Become intentional about what you absorb. Be wise with what you feed your mind.

Building Block 2: Associations

Mindsets are contagious. Who you surround yourself with matters.

If you spend your time with people who possess empowering mindsets, you will have a tendency to feel empowered yourself. Conversely, if you spend your time with irresponsible, negative, unmotivated, insecure people, you will certainly not be inspired to embrace empowering mindsets and achieve great results in your life.

If you aspire to be a great person, you must walk with great people. Become intentional about your associations.

Building Block 3: Affirmations

The words you repeat to yourself help shape your mindsets. Your inner voice is always speaking, and the messages it sends your mind are either helping or hindering your progress.

Empowering affirmations are self-liberating; disempowering ones are self-limiting. It’s important to become aware of what is going on inside your mind and to take control over it.

Become intentional about speaking to yourself in a positive, uplifting way.

In essence, everything you do counts: everything you watch, read, and listen to; every discussion; every interaction; every decision; every conversation with yourself. Everything either helps you foster positive mindsets or negative ones.

Paying close attention to the information you absorb, the people you associate with, and the affirmations you repeat to yourself, will take you a long way on your road to mastering your mindsets.
