Thanks very much for reading and criticising Garry! I think the welfare state is a great historical ahicevement. I love it. I just taste that on the door step citizens in welfare states, who are entitled to various things, ask: are these people coming into my country going to be free-riders? I just think that anxiety is always there, and it gets worse when the wind is not blowing favourably . And politics has to respond to it and will often exploit it.
