This chapter focused a lot on the history of refining the look of plastic when it came to computers and laptops. Especially the section about the desktop computer and how it had an established design in the eighties. Of course at the center of this was Apple and their leading designers. I thought it was interesting how in the early stages of computers designers had to work around the bulky aspects that were needed to make the computer function. The iMac's most unusual feature was the addition of color to a desktop computer. I think that Apple being the first to add color to it also plays along with their slogan “think different.” In the picture that the textbook provides of the colorful computers, the slogan is right underneath it. Now in modern days, you can see Apple resurface bright colors on its products, especially with the iPhones. It is interesting to see where the beginning of adding color to these high-end products began.
