The solve Squad- Part 1
The most common element which occurs in everyone’s life are the problems which we face in our life, isn’t that a crime to educate a child without this basic skill. Here is reap benefit, this organization in a child mind inculcate problem solving is not just a skill but a way of life. This article depicts one such interesting solve ninja team story who had acquired this skill and solved a problem, part of the Chennai solve squad . This following story would be penned down in the Structure of DISS.
DISS is nothing but the problem solving process which reap benefit had developed to solve any problem :
D- Discover the problem
I- Investigate about the problem in-depth and compile the essential data
S- Solve the problem with acquired investigation data
S- Share the developed solution to expand its beneficiaries
The Poop Effect
Isn’t excreting a natural phenomenon? I assume most of us agree, but why we aren’t happy when birds carry out their business in the corridors of our homes, offices, schools, huge building, etc? Obviously we know it stinks, unhygienic and what not. Which tend to push us setting up bird traps and all other harmful things to keep them away, but these groups of boys from school DAV Boys Gopalapuram- Chennai are different. They faced a similar problem this is how they have solved it.
Discover- The windows in their class are spread across the entire length of the room, the pigeons used to stay there at the window gaps and poop, which stinks all the day. This never allowed the boys sitting along the window to focus on the classes. This had been a problem for them for quite a long.
Investigate- They observed for few days and understood pigeon finds this as a safe place to stay away from the weather and predators. Also they found when people are around in the room it doesn’t come there, only in the absence of people they arrive.
Solve-So they initially thought of setting up a scare-crow there which threatens the bird but they learnt from people that it doesn’t keep them away in longer run. Next came the idea of hanging out any element which when suspended freely makes some noise while they move, but understood the sound would last even when classes would be going on and it might disturb the class. Finally arrived at their solution of hanging net along the entire window space from the external slab. This net doesn’t allow the pigeon to sneak in through the window nor sit on the window wall.
Share- They had observed it for 2 weeks now and are excited to know it works. They want to scale this across to other classrooms which face similar problem. The entire cost of this solution was 700 INR, these people are now working on something which is far simpler and cheap. They at future aim to scale their solution to other places which faces similar problem includes local railway station, temples, etc.
