To the men in my life

Today’s Twitter Analytics excitement reminded me I’d been thinking it might be an interesting experiment to try following only women for a couple weeks (August 28 to September 10). Just to see what happens.

One thing I’m fairly sure will happen is my followings will shrink so much (looks like I’m temporarily unfollowing 125 people, bringing total followings down to 95 women and organizations/brands) that I’ll be able to pay greater attention to the tweets that are left in the stream.

The experiment will run on my @vnaylon account only. Followings on other accounts I own will remain unchanged. Many of the men I follow also follow me back; you can still DM me.

So, I say to the men in my life: love you. follow you again soon. I’ve saved my current followings to a Twitter list so I easily can re-follow people.

And just think, soon I might get to post my *own* gender thinkpiece on Medium.
