VO4TA: Your Ex
From the Best of VO4TA
Looking at old copy is like trying to get back together with your ex: You’re never going to get everything you want out of it. Good or bad, right or wrong — it just won’t ever be the same.
Like in every relationship — it’s all about the talk, right?
Maybe you said the wrong thing… Or didn’t say it in the right way? You rushed when you should have just let things unfold naturally. Maybe you held back when you should have gone further — or did you go too far? Were there things unsaid when you could have said something differently?
Those moments you had (while good) ended for a reason. You put work into it and tried so hard to make it go. Examined it from all kinds of angles and thought about it and thought about it. And it’s hard — because you knew, in your heart, you were a good fit. Maybe there’s no one to blame? You saw what you could see and tried everything you knew how to do and it all came so close to working. But now — neither of you are really there anymore, are you?
And that voice inside you! The one that goes: “Yeah — this is the one! I can make this one work and it’ll make EVERYTHING better!”
Then there’s the questions! Oh, all the unanswered questions!
Am I good enough? Will I ever get another chance like that again? Is it me? What did someone else do right that I didn’t?
Or the worst one ever: Who are they with now?
Go find yourself some new copy. After all — it’s everywhere. Better for you both to move on!
