“Ask any question with anything. Let everything be awakened by voice, be able to talk to humans, and become a portal to the Internet. You can use your voice to access hundreds of millions of services, such an Internet life is no longer a distant dream.”

VoiceWeb officially landed on the LaToken Exchange on December 5. The token being listed for trading is Voicecoin (VC), used in the ecosystem of Voiceweb.

The Voiceweb Foundation is aiming to build a voice-driven World Wide Web (Voiceweb) in the Internet of Things (IoT) era using blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies. Referring to the way Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented traditional World Wide Web (WWW) in 1990, Voiceweb is committed to reinventing it and building its protocol and infrastructure for the voice Internet. The inventions of the traditional World Wide Web include three blocks: URIs, HTTP and HTML. VoiceWeb is trying to build similar components and a semantic-based DNS infrastructure for the voice Internet, creating a voice enabled Internet for all of humanity. People can access the Internet through smart speakers, headphones, watches, in-vehicle devices, and VR/AR/MR devices (including mobile phones and PCs). People can also wake up devices via voice, use voice to call services, and use voice to make payments.

The VoiceWeb team in Silicon Valley started the project in June 2017. Currently, a semantic-based DNS infrastructure (V-DNS) has been set up. The relevant core technology achievements have been utilized to apply for several utility patents. V-DNS is a dedicated underlying public chain for voice domain name resolution featuring security, efficiency, and privacy protection. Anyone can register a “. Voice” or “. Bot “ voice domain name by paying a small amount of voicecoin on the blockchain. These domain names can be resolved to voice enabled digital assistants. The traditional Web uses legacy DNS to find websites, while the Voice enabled Web in the AI era will route services through voice domain names.

Through the V-DNS infrastructure, any voice service can be interacted through an invocation name that voice domain linked, and the service can be hyperlinked, so that you can navigate various services through voice, free your hands and eyes, let people use Voice to surf the Internet. In order to establish an ecosystem, the team also built a voice chatbot builder Voicebot.pro. Through the test corpus evaluation of Cornell University, its F1 score already be comparable to Google’s Dialog Flow, Microsoft Luis, RASA, and Facebook’s Wit.AI. Recently, the open source version of the platform has been enthusiastically embraced by developers around the world.

The VoiceWeb team believes that the traditional Web is a great invention in the GUI era, mainly accessed by typing domain names with a keyboard. The App Store model invented by Steve Jobs has taken the lead in the touch-screen era compared to the Web. However, the App Store model promotes the prosperity of the mobile Internet, but on the other hand it brings about the separation of the mobile Internet. In the era of voice Internet, the App Store model will bring greater fragmentation of the Internet. IoT devices manufactured by different factories cannot be interoperable. Devices made by SME are struggling to integrate with enough services. The major established players monopolized the content, suppressing the innovation of small and medium-sized enterprises and individuals.

The VoiceWeb team believes that artificial intelligence services, using the Web model is more suitable. Only the Web model can stimulate the innovation of the AI industry. Using the Web model, just like how we use the traditional Internet, whatever manufacturer’s device we use, opening a browser and typing a domain name, we can get the same service. Any hardware manufacturer no longer to worry about integrating services. As long as it is installed, the browser can access more than one billion websites.

The founder of VoiceWeb is Mr. George Zhao, the original patent inventor of the core technology powering WeChat. He first proposed to build a voice enabled World Wide Web through blockchain technology and took the lead in practicing and building the world’s first voice domain name infrastructure.

The project’s team member and advisors include Mr. Ruxiong Li, founder of Optics Valley Coffee, former Huawei blockchain scientist Key Huang, NLP scientist and professor Bing Liu, Dr. Ling Brown from IBM Almaden Research Center, and former Tim Draper’s employee Min H. Kim. What makes the team different is that the team plan to pre-sale their tokens long after their platform is setup. Recently, the VoiceWeb team has been supported by the Node Capital’s Du Jun, Huobi’s Angel investor Li Mingshun and Benyuan Capital’s partner Che Deming.

When talking about whether to do market make after listing, the founder replied: “The blockchain we understand does not exist as a PR economy but is there to solve specific problems in practice. The price of the token should reflect the actual status of the project. Peaches and plums, the next from Seikei.”

When the protocols and infrastructure proposed by the VoiceWeb team is rolled out successfully, platforms such as Apple’s SIRI, Amazon’s ECHO, Baidu’s DuerOS, and Google Home may all evolve to a voice browser. The number of services that these browsers can access will not only be hundreds or thousands but may even reach hundreds of millions in the future like the PC Internet. In any corner of the world, any smart device can be used to serve people with a chatbot like Microsoft “Xiaoice” or “Zo”. Anyone can buy a voice domain to set up his/her own voice assistant. There is no need for developers to do customization for different devices.

You don’t need to talk to each vendor to deploy it, your voice assistant can be accessed by any smart device in the world. Cisco predicted the number of IoT connected devices could reach to 50 billion by 2020, far exceeding the number of mobile phones and PCs, people will use voice fist to interact with them. Masayoshi Son, chairman of the Softbank Group, predicts that 10 billion robots will live with humans in the next 30 years. Through VoiceWeb’s infrastructure, a lot of robots will be registered on the blockchain, and people can use them with any voice-based smart IoT device.
