Having worked in both the “soft” drinks and “hard” drinks businesses for over 20 years starting in the 70’s I was there when this change came about. It was driven mainly by the public and not the Trade, as it greatly reduced the Trades’ profit margins.

I do not see a great deal about glass bottles in any of your handouts. If you consider the licenced trade (pubs) usage of NRB’s (Non Returnable Bottles as there were know), from beer, soft drinks and mixers, this must add weight to your arguments.’
