Are you on a quest for the perfect diamond engagement ring? It might be hard to make the right choice. Do you want the shiniest, sparkliest and most glamorous one of all? Or a more simple and sophisticated ring that radiates serenity? For a little bit inspiration we gathered some of the prettiest engagement rings.

Oval shaped

Brilliantly sweet and a timeless classic amongst engagement rings are the oval shaped ones flanked by more diamonds. They combine the sparkle of the round brilliant cut with the elongated shape of a marquise. Ashley Green from Twilight said ‘yes’ to an oval brilliant-cut diamond with a diamond-encrusted band. The ring presents a sense of style and glamour, which made her jump for joy.

A few years back we all got a little jealous when Blake Lively showed her beautiful rose gold oval-cut engagement ring to the world. The light pink tone is accented by the romantic golden metal and the thin micro-pavé bands, which make the ring absolutely gorgeous.

Modern solitaire

A sparkling solitaire diamond engagement ring just says it all. Charles Lewis Tiffany believed that an exceptional diamond — no matter how big or small — should be heralded. His legendary Tiffany ring, which lifts the diamond above the band, still inspires the ones looking for a classic engagement ring. It can be pretty petite but chic like Keira Knightley’s engagement ring, or less low key. Everyone remembers the giant rock Jennifer Aniston received in 2012!

Last year in 2016 Ricky Martin proudly showed off his sparkling engagement ring after he proposed his boyfriend Jawn whom he met over a year. A simple and modern ring with a flush setting that protects the single diamond in the middle from chipping of falling out.

Vintage reinvented

Why not choose a diamond ring influenced by a popular vintage era? An Art Deco inspired ring combines perfectly with modern jewellery. A few years back Scarlett Johansson’s fiancé popped the question with one that features three round diamonds on a large rectangle setting with more diamonds.

Kim Kardashian as well got the chance to show off a ring inspired by the roaring twenties. We just love her cushion cut diamond ring that’s just flawless.

If you’re more the romantic type you might find inspiration in the Edwardian or Victorian era. Since the Golden Globes 2017 Kirsten Dunst wears an oval-cut stone flanked by large shoulder diamonds on the band. The ring is just as romantic as she is!

In 2016 Alexis Bledel from Gillmore Girls and Mad Men received a octagonal-shaped diamond ring. The large round cut diamond is set in a simple yet beautiful platinum band that emphasis the diamond’s sparkle.

Something blue

Something new, something old, something borrowed, something blue. Why not go for a blue diamond or sapphire in combination with diamonds to pop the question? Kate Middleton was more than happy when Prince William proposed to her with the engagement ring worn by his mother Princess Diana. The 12 carat oval blue sapphire is surrounded by a cluster of 14 diamonds, which makes an impression. Kate Middleton’s ring is an authentic Edwardian piece circa 1915 and the style is truly perfect for the romantic souls.

The Jane Seymour Vivid Blue Diamond ring is little above an average person’s budget but what a beautiful design! It has a cushion-cut blue diamond, which is set on platinum and plated with rose-gold flowers.

Non-traditional

Does your loved one likes to think outside the box? Then you might want to go for anything but traditional. Miranda Kerr’s boyfriend Orlando Bloom went for a floral design with oval and round cut diamonds arranged closely together. Too bad they’re nog longer together. Are you more into geometrical shapes?

When Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were still madly in love he proposed to her with a large square diamond that’s set into a thick ribbed band. For almost a year Brad Pitt and the jeweller worked closely together for the perfect design.
