The Head Architect glanced at the holographic screens on his desk in front of him again. It truly was a perfect place to set up their first major arena! A forest surrounded by mountains on all sides, and an old abandoned mill as well as a monument with a swordsman on it for flavor! He already had his men setting up the new Rune Generators, courtesy of the team of scientists and wizards that made up the M.R&D. They insisted he call it the Magical Research and Development Department, but that was too long. Instead, him and his men just called them M-Rad. Anyway, after they had the Rune Generators up and running, they’d install the teleporters and they’d pretty much be done! The professional camera men had already set up cameras in trees and in little niches that nobody would notice them in without knowing exactly where they were, and they even deployed some fancy drone stations in hollowed out trees and some on the sides of the mountains. They should be able to catch every inch of the action. And while the lack of actual building didn’t make good use of his numerous Architecture degrees, he was quite satisfied with the work he’d done to make the lush valley feel both wild and also a perfect battleground. Few people truly knew the lengths one must go to in order to make it look like they hadn’t done anything at all. Within the week, all the tech would be in place and stress tested, and by the end of the month they’d be having their first Arena Battle here! He was giddy with excitement! If this ended up being half as big of a hit as he felt it would be, then he’d go down in history! Of course, he’d set aside a fair bit of his wages from the project to do some gambling himself. There weren’t any rules against employees participating in the bets, and Jerrome from the Recruitment Department had let slip that his money was on a guy called “Gromnack The Chopper”. And with so many candidates from so many different worlds, he was inclined to trust one of the guys doing the judging. And, if this Gromnack was the arena champion like he thought he’d be, then he’d never need to design anything ever again! So, with dollar signs in his eyes, he set off to double check those Rune Generators. If he was going down in history, he’d make sure he did this right!
