Prospect U named Top 100 Baseball Organization in the Country by Baseball Youth Magazine
Prospect United has been recognized by Baseball Youth as a Top 100 baseball organization in the country. Being the Nation’s largest youth baseball magazine, Baseball Youth chose UA Prospect United out of thousands of organizations, taking into consideration more than just winning.
“I am so proud of our coaches, athletes, parents, and staffing. It has been an incredible year for The U, and I am blessed to be a part of their process and this honor bestowed upon our people.” Stated Prospect United Director and former MLB pitcher Jim Parque.

Prospect United is “officially partnered with” and “powered by” Under Armour — amassing a partnership network of over twenty industry leaders whom contribute towards preparing Prospect U athletes for competition. With 8 national affiliates and over 700 athletes nationwide whom compete for The U, Prospect United has developed a special opportunity for athletes nationwide.

“Here at the U, we require our athletes to stay committed to playing an aggressive and physical style of baseball. We have been extremely successful this summer, but it has come with a lot of sweat equity.” Stated Prospect United SoCal Director Rainel Caranto.
As of June 2, 2018, The U has amassed 1346 wins (83% winning pct), 83 tournament titles, and 12 world series bids. Hitters are batting a combined .306 and pitchers are keeping their teams in ballgames with a combined 2.78 ERA.
On Memorial Day Weekend alone, Prospect United teams saw 22 teams headed into Sunday championship rounds with a combined 58–8 record, wherein 7 won titles, one being the prestigious LVBA in Vegas (14U Prospect United NW).
“We love to win, and we require it from our athletes. Whether we actually do win is not the goal, as the scoreboard is not how we determine a win at The U”. Stated Parque.
This ideal is rare in youth sports, but has proven to be successful for Prospect United. Parque went on,
“We want our athletes to prepare for the win, and if they work hard enough in practice, they will develop a winning mentality that cares only about competing against one’s best self. The byproduct will be a scoreboard win, and the end result will hopefully be an NCAA baseball scholarship or pro contract.”
To date, Prospect United has 36 NCAA committed athletes. This staggering number of NCAA commits in one season started back in August 2017.

“At tryouts, we chose cores of athletes with a passion for work. Then we chose the right parents and formed our teams with the best coaches we could find. Granted, not every coach, athlete, or parent will buy into the vision, but we feel 2018 has been a major success for our people.” Stated Prospect United Director of Hitting Larry Marshall.
After teams were formed, the work began with three times per week MLB defined training, relentless practices, and a commitment to physicality.
“So many organizations just form teams. This has its place, but at The U, we commit to developing the body first and the skills second. As a former MLB player, I know that physical skills will always outmatch mechanical execution. I also know that player development is the cornerstone to longevity in the game.” Stated Parque.

This drill is a simple way to train your body to properly load. The hop back creates the feeling of being loaded. Then as you go back into your stride, you will get a feel for your back hip moving into footstrike as it should; while you stay loaded over it!

Prospect United provides 3 skill specific teams per age (9–18U). Each team provides a competitive season that caters to the individual athlete’s current skill level. Showcase Premiere clubs compete nationally and play against the best in their region. Tournament Elite clubs compete regionally, with one national event. Regional Prospect level clubs play competitively at a local level, and concentrate upon developing their athletes into a Tournament Elite or Showcase Premiere level athlete.
