Beautifully haunting and sensitive Singaporean movie “Be With Me” (2005), directed by Eric Khoo and starring Ng Sway Ah, Sanwan Bin Rais, Theresa Poh Lin Chan, Ezann Lee, Samantha Tan among others.

There are strands of three stories intertwined with one real life story that of Theresa Poh Lin Chan who is both deaf and blind. Hers is a courageous story of battling all odds and living life with hope.

There is an ageing shopkeeper who lives alone and visits the hospital to take food for his ailing wife. Later i think his wife dies and he loses all interest to even open shop.

A security supervisor who loves food and is also interested in an unknown lady who lives opposite his house and works in the same building as his. He is a like a psycho following her and all that. His father and brother mistreat him.

Two young school girls fall in love with each other after contacting online but later one of the girls goes off the relationship and the other girl becomes sad.

The movie is about love, some find it, some don’t and some die in the process. Its about hope and optimism and also reality check — whether one deserves that love. The music is very soft tone piano and Eric Khoo has navigated all the three stories beautifully.

In the entire movie of about 90 minutes there is hardly about two and half minutes of dialogue, which speaks of the power of the cinema. One can follow the movies on the basis of emotions rather than dialogues. Erik Khoo has handled a tricky subject very deftly. IMDB 6/10
