Siem Reap Sunrise: Getting the best sight from the right point
If you plan to visit Siem Reap, then you might have been told to watch the lavish sunrise in the area. There are a number of locations that will provide you an extravagant look of the sun rising high in the sky as the day begins. However, there is perhaps no better place to watch the Siem Reap sunrise than the temples of Angkor Wat. Here is how you should plan it.
Planning the Angkor Wat sunrise visit
The gates of the place are open at 5 AM, and you can buy tickets as soon as the gatekeeper provides you the way. Many people go to get the tickets and visit it right away, but they come back disappointed as they are unable to find the best spot. If you are willing to get the perfect shot at sunrise, then the recommendation is that you must buy tickets a day or two prior to the visit. The advance tickets are available for the tourists. For people who plan to get tickets early, the booth is open for facilitation from 5 AM to 5:30 PM.
If you are willing to have the best, then you are required to make some effort too. First of all, you have to get up early and be the first to reach temples. For that, you might have to leave your hotel around 4:30 or 4:45 AM. Secondly, it is your own preference, but we suggest you to wear the clothes that cover your knees and shoulders. Every place has its own culture, and we must learn to respect it. Lastly, make sure that you have bought the tickets early so when you reach the temples, you do not have to wait in the line, buy the pass, and then enter the place.
