A glance into my life

Hi my name is Valerie Thomas. Let’s talk about my childhood, I was born on June 19th, 2000. I grew up with my parents and my older brother named Joey. I was born in Chicago and moved to Mount Prospect when I was one year old. I grew up playing multiple sports. First I tried soccer but that didn’t work out. Then I tried gymnastics that went well until I broke my elbow and was scared to go back. When I was 11 I tried volleyball and I’ve been playing ever since. I am now a junior at Prospect high school.

I chose this song because it reminds me enjoy life and not to worry about things as much. I also picked this song because I really like this band.

This is me at 9:00 on Thursday night. I am doing homework because I had a volleyball game and it didn’t end until 8:00. Clearly happy to be doing my homework.

My friends inspire me to be a good person and friend. They always support me and motivate me to do my best.

Another person that inspires me is Kerri Walsh-Jennings. She inspires me because she worked so hard to get to where she is now. In every match she gives it her all and strives to win. She motivates me to work hard everyday to reach my goals.

The last person that inspires me is my mother. My mom makes sure that I am doing my best in school, in volleyball, and in life. She wants the best for me now and in the future. She will do anything for me and that inspires me to be a good mother when I am older.

A dream of mine is to travel to all 50 states. I think that would be so cool and a great story to tell. I have only been to nine states so I have 41 states to go. I really want to go to Alaska, Hawaii, South Carolina, and Oregon.

A perception I have of life in America is everybody using technology and social media. Now a days you will see everybody on their phones all the time. It’s how we communicate with each other.

Another perception I have is people having to have the newest things when they come out. When it comes to cell phones people want the newest one because it is better and cooler. This also goes with video game counsels, clothes, and so much more.

My last perception of life in America is eating fast food. A lot of people who are working or even just short on time will turn to fast food as their meal. There are so many fast food chains in America.
