Instagram finally gives multiple accounts support feature

If you are a social media manager who has a few Instagram portfolio’s under your belt then this will probably feel like a belated Christmas present. Instagram is infamous for taking its time releasing new features. Okay, maybe this past year they doubled down and updated more than usual. In 2015 we saw portraits and landscape released and what a beautiful difference this has made in the type of content shared.

Instagram multiple profile management has been the most requested feature in recent months and it was more of a necessity than a want. A growing number of users have a personal and business profile on Instagram due to its powerful marketing reach. We won’t even get into the issue of not being able to upload content through any other 3rd party platform beside a mobile device. We can only pray that will be the next evolution. Some people have gone so far as to own a device for each profile purely because switching between profiles by logging out from one, and into another is time-consuming.

Instagram woke up and decided, let’s go big and not just give them two or three but up to five profiles in one device! We thank you, Instagram team.

Setting up and switching between profiles

“To add multiple Instagram accounts:
1. Go to your profile and tap the gear icon or 3 dots at the top right
2. Scroll down and tap Add Account
3. Enter the user-name and password of the account you’d like to add
To switch between accounts you’ve added:
1. Go to your profile
 2. Tap your user-name at the top of the screen
 3. Tap the account you’d like to switch to”

Identifiable changes to the Instagram App once you update to version 7.15

User-name on top will activate an up arrow as soon as you set-up multiple accounts.

The bottom menu bar on the far right shows the active profiles avatar.
