We are so thrilled to announce that Rec Room is beginning a new chapter. Earlier this month, Rec Room was acquired by The Hedgehog Company, a Boston-based group building a family of direct-to-consumer brands.

While the ownership will look different, Rec Room isn’t going anywhere—we are excited about Hedgehog’s commitment to investing in and growing Rec Room for the long-term, and know that Fan Bi and his team are the right people to take the company to the next level.

It has been the most incredible journey building Rec Room. We could never have imagined the ride we were signing up for when we started kicking around a little idea for a little side business while students at Stanford GSB. Five years, 3 re-brands, 2 babies and 1 pandemic later, we’re so proud to have contributed in our own way to making women’s lives just a little more comfortable. And we’re especially proud to have built a company whose values are a reflection of our own — commitments to sustainability and racial justice, and celebrating women of all shapes, sizes, colors and backgrounds.

We have so many people to thank, including our families, team members, partners, advisors and investors for believing in us. But most importantly we want to thank our customers & Rec Roommates: it’s been wonderful building a community with you over the past years, and we can’t wait to continue to create together for years to come with the Hedgehog team.

While we’ll be stepping back from the day-to-day of running Rec Room, we will continue to stay involved with the brand as advisors to the new leadership team. In the meantime, we are both excited for some down time and space to think through the next adventure!

Stay comfy,

Val & Dre
