Why is Education so Important?
Books play a significant role in our life. They say that “When you open a book, you open a new world”. We believe that everyone would agree with this statement as books have become inevitable to mankind. For the majority of people, books are part of their everyday life. A book is like a best friend who will never walk away from you. Books have been here for centuries and without them today’s knowledge of our past ancestors, cultures and civilizations would have been impossible. Have you ever thought what would have happened if intellectuals never documented their studies?
On one hand, there are people who live their life lavishly. They are not only enjoying the joy of essentials but also have what they want and desire; a luxurious living providing them an extra comfort. On the other hand, there are people who cannot even afford the basic requirements of living. They do not have shelter to live, food to eat, and clothes to wear. People who have extra are living a comfortable and a posh life. While those who have barely the vitals are fighting each day for life. They fail to meet the basic requirements.
For this purpose we selected social cause which is Education. We worked on the concept of honor system of book/notes sharing after when student clear their exams so in this way to help those students which are juniors and who are not able to purchase or print the new notes as a lot of money is spent on buying notes.
Permission for the Venue from University Management:
For this we decided to make a Book bank in Agriculture Faculty. First major difficulty we had to face was getting the permission from university administration as know Agriculture university is government university and getting a permission from government university is not a easy task first of all. The application was written by Waleed with signatures of all members working on this project. When application was submitted at Dean office of Agriculture faculaty , the authority said that here (on application) you did not mentioned about AMAL academy which we were thinking unnecessary in other words our application rejected in first attempt then again we wrote an application according to faculty member advice and again submitted it in dean office but this time they said that this application must be forwarded to Dr. Hafeez that deal with external affairs of university and since Amal academy sign MoU with university so it’s better that he recommended us about your social startups and then this application will be forwarded to dean office. we reached CDC department of university that deal external affairs of university here we met with sir Qamar and mam Sara .Sir Qamar was a really good man and had a nice personality, he saw the application and asked us that it will be more better if a letter from Amal academy attached with it. Sir Ibrahim, our Amal academy PM, was told about the whole problem that we were facing and asked him about permission letter. It was Friday of the last week when we asked him about permission letter next day in class he gave us permission letter that was really awesome and we are happy as all things that are necessary for application we have got.
On Monday, Waleed reached again CDC department and met with Sir Qamar and again submitted application but this time with letter from Amal academy and no mistakes in application. Thanks God! he accepted the application and told us we will forward it tomorrow to Dean office of agriculture and on Tuesday we asked about application from a Clark in dean office and we got positive response from him and he told us that he had received our application and after getting signature he will forward it to DSA office. Next day we asked again about application from Clerk and he told us your application still here and we are just sending it to DSA office. Then waleed personally took application and submitted it in DSA office ….we have done all the things that are necessary for getting the permission and next day we got permission from all relevant officers which was not an easy task. With one week struggle at last we succeed but we really enjoyed it and personal thanks to the collaboration of the Amal academy coordinators. Really grateful to them.
Arranging cupboard for notes:
In the mean time of getting application signed we gave an order for cupboard with all group members collaboration to arrange books and notes in it. For this muzammil did a good job and the making a cupboard was his task
Making of Pamphlets :
Pamphlets are not made yet but we have made a template with Amal Academy logo to promote students for donating notes and books for the book bank so the needy students can get these notes. This task is under zia and he is doing his best to make the event sucessful. In coming week pamphlets will be pasted on the walls of UAF.
Collecting Notes:
Ayesha and Sohail and I have collected notes from our fellows so far and after pasting pamphlets we hope to have more notes in next week which will be the part of book bank. Hope to have a best coming week to achieve our goal. Especially thanks to waleed for so much hard work.
