The trauma of Jack Walker

War is pain. War is losing the ones you love. War is agony. In my world, war is life.
It all started with a bang. The reloading of a gun. The roaring of the shells.
That’s when the PTSD kicked in.
“Bang, Bang! I got you, Sally!” The kids were playing some game with toy guns. The sounds got to me.
Bang Bang
Boom
The sounds of war were traumatic. They rang in your head, searing into your flesh. They never went away. The toy guns got to me as well.
Bang Bang
Boom
All day. All night in my dreams. My nightmares. It haunts me and my family. I broke down
Bang Bang
Boom
“What’s wrong, Daddy? Mommy!”
Bang
Bang
Guns and fire were thrown about. No one to here you scream.
This is my trauma
The life is mine
The chaos got to me.
Until it consumed me.
