As W3A rolls out and garners accolades across the tech community, we’re keeping everyone updated on the product’s major milestones.

Hey again, our dearest web3 fellows! Christmas is in the air, and we are back with a bag of news.

The first piece to share is that from December 1, Web3 Antivirus is successfully out of beta and is officially available on the Chrome Web Store. Everyone is welcome to try it out and make sure it is five-star for a reason.

Honestly, we are amazed by the warm reception W3A got — couldn’t imagine a better start. It means the world to us, as we’ve got tangible proof that our product is much needed and awaited. Now, to details, all in good time.

Transparency as W3A’s pre-launch power weapon

Not a secret, the launch phase is normally challenging. Still, there was no chance for challenges to scuttle our big plans. So, how was our beta? In a nutshell, it was a good jump-start.

As we are aware, in web3 “cautious” is a preferred state by default, and we are getting the point. Being skeptical about tools that examine deals and assets is pretty understandable. This is why we went completely transparent about everything we do and decided on the product being open-source from the outset.

Anyone can check Web3 Antivirus’s code on GitHub, build a copy, and make sure everything works just as described. Even more, we have asked for a reputable outside perspective. Currently, W3A is under comprehensive security audits at several trusted tech service providers, so any time soon we will get an independent conclusion.

What’s new in the launched version?

Before the release of Web3 Antivirus, we tested the use of machine learning models to analyze smart contracts. However, the approach fell short of expectations: the models produced unpredictable results and consistently discovered false positives.

To close the book on the issue, we’ve built a graph structure-based algorithm enabling W3A to operate more accurately. By processing predefined combinations, the algorithm analyzes input data and delivers results. Once we’ve implemented the new mechanism, false positives dropped from 32.69% to 7.88%.

Eyes on the prize: W3A makes headlines

For the Web3 Antivirus team, the launch week was all fireworks. The interest and quality feedback from the global tech community was truly pleasing. As we went live on the Product Hunt, we jumped at the chance to hear the voices of W3A users while examining their reviews and communicating with everyone at firsthand.

Then we noticed Web3 Antivirus being in the leadership ride on Smoothie. The moment our product was highlighted there, it stuck to the top position and made it to the Smoothie award for second place.

We appreciate all the support and feedback! It helps us move forward and build protection for web3 users.

Yet another reason to celebrate is a splash of organic publicity. Right in time with the launch, Alex Dulub, W3A founder, became a member of Forbes Technology Council and spoke with John Koetsier, Senior Contributor, who was asking for more context to the project. A wrap-up of their conversation on Forbes properly explains the reasoning behind creating W3A.

Further aspirations & near-time plans

So far so good, we’re planning to grow on and on, giving users comprehensive insights into what they deal with in web3. Most important on the list are further improvements to the auditing methodology. Namely, users will be able to examine all steps of the transaction simulation, as well as get even more details about the risks associated with the transaction. We are also implementing advanced NFT analysis that covers historical data and integrating an ML-enriched layer able to detect financial fraud, define wallets risk scoring, IP infringements, honeypots, etc. Stay tuned!

Now, that’s it with news for today. Time that we wrap our last wishes for Father Christmas and take care in web3, as we do as mindful contributors. See you around the Eve!
