W3:Ride X Action Medical Research -Ride for Charity while gamifying cycling
We are excited to announce that we have joined forces with the children’s charity organization Action Medical Research to empower cyclists to make a difference while enjoying their rides!
Action Medical Research is the leading UK-wide charity dedicated to saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. For over 70 years, they’ve helped pioneer ways to prevent disease and develop treatments benefiting millions of people.
Their research even has helped to beat polio in the UK, develop ultrasound in pregnancy, fight meningitis and prevent stillbirths! 💪
Riding with Purpose
Riders can participate in each race to earn a new avatar and bike that are unique to the event. After completing the race, they can claim a special race badge that unlocks exclusive rewards and merchandise.
By registering and participating in the virtual event, cyclists not only get to reap all the rewards, but also contribute meaningfully as ALL donations go directly to the charity. It’s a win-win situation!
Interactive Map
Navigate through unique landmarks and checkpoints mirroring the actual race route and discover hidden rewards. Our innovative interactive map also allows you to see other W3:Ride members sharing the route with you. This feature creates an engaging sense of community and may even inspire some friendly competition.
“We at W3:Ride are proud to partner with Action Medical Research and do our share to help fight childhood diseases. Our goal is to bring communities together, let them have fun, ride together, and offer additional benefits in the end.”
Thomas Wagner, CBO of W3:Ride
A Journey Ahead
The journey begins with Davina’s Big Sussex Bike Ride, scheduled for the 25th of June, where cyclists will have the opportunity to earn and contribute while exploring the picturesque roads of the Sussex countryside.
The partnership between W3:Ride and Action Medical Research will extend to all upcoming Action cycling events across the UK.
“We are excited to be partnering with W3:Ride and launching this pioneering ride-and-reward technology at Davina’s Big Sussex Bike Ride. The charity is striving to develop treatments and cures to tackle diseases and conditions that devastate children’s lives. Through raising awareness and funds at cycling events, we can continue to drive forward research to help sick babies and children.”
Toby Tennant, Head of Relationship Fundraising at Action Medical Research
