Ways to Take Care of Glass Fencing

Glass fencing around the pool not only adds protection factor around that area, but also increases aesthetic value and overall resale value of the property. However, as time passes by, nature takes troll on this installation too, and as a result, there comes a time, when you have to clean it to retain its newness. This can be done through DIY basically, as mostly installation companies give some handy tips to the owners for this. Some of them are being discussed in this post.

The best cleaning solution for such areas is warm water and soap

For swimming pool glass fencing, in super stores and hardware stores, you will come across a vast range of cleaning products that promise good results. However, no sane expert would recommend you to rely upon them, as most of them are made up of chemicals that eventually damage the glass. As mentioned above, the best way to make glass fencing free from impurities is using warm water and normal soap. Not the soap that we use for bathing, but dishwashing soap is being referred here. Along with these, you can also use a couple of dry towels, a sponge and a mild scrubber too.

It should not be cleaned when it is hot outside

Another tip is that you should not think about cleaning in a broad daylight. The best time of the day to engage in cleaning is early in the morning or during the evening, when the sun is not that blazing. The reason is that cleaning this area is like watering the garden and if you will do it when the sun is hottest, the plants would be damaged. Therefore, it is better to clean the glass fencing when the sun’s temperature is low.

Avoid tapes, adhesives, etc. completely in the area of pool fencing and even the glass gates

The reason why this tip is mentioned here is that they can cause temporary or permanent damage to the glass and it may lose its visual appeal. Therefore, you should not use them around the pool area, unless it has been mentioned on them that they will be easily removed and are safe for use on glass panes. The better option is to be on the safe side and not use them at all on such areas.

It should be given special protection while mowing the lawn

Mostly homeowners are not aware that while mowing the lawn, they can accidentally toss some small pebbles and dirt particles on the glass fencing and damage its surface. These particles will surely not damage the panes, but still it is better to be careful while mowing and stay on the safer side.

Suds should be removed instantly after the washing has been performed

When you engage in the washing process, you need to make sure that after applying soap, sponge, etc., you immediately take free-flowing water and remove the suds. They should not stay there as they can dry and leave the marks that would be very tough to remove.
