Getting Out from Hole to Fulfill Dream
Many factors can attract hiring manager to short list the candidates for interview call including the way you drop your resume. In-person drop stands out and distinguish you from a crowd. When a job advertisement appear a big number of candidates send their resume and cover letter via email but when the person drop his/her resume and cover letter in-person to the HR manager this is memorable and differentiate you from others.
One day I took initiative to get experience on the importance of in-person drop. I have planned to drop my resume in-person to the HR manager of “IIT Solution”. I practiced my elevator pitch to give better impression on hiring manager. I did research about the company like location, their projects and HR manager name. One day I dressed professionally took my resume and cover letter in folder and left for office.
When I reached, gatekeeper asked me the purpose of coming and by telling the hiring manager name they gave me permission to go and then I entered the HR department. I went straight to the hiring manager by seeking permission of entering the office then while introducing myself I handover my resume to him. Hiring manager appreciated me on my this step that I in person drop my resume but they apologized me because I am currently in 7th semester and not eligible for the post up till now.
They advised me to continue my passion about my work through these actions like in-person drop and hard work and increase my technical knowledge about my field and came back after completing my graduation with full enthusiasm and grip on my field. They guided me more about importance of in person drop like many employers seek candidates who take different initiative to drop resume and go beyond expectations.
