It’s a story-driven campaign mode that you can play alone or with friends. Unlike the popular Battle Royale mode, though, you’ll only be fighting computer-controlled enemies.

How to Play Fortnite: Save the World?

The PvE-only experience of Save the World is perfect for gamers who love a story-driven game mode different from the battle royale mode. You can currently launch Fortnite from the Epic Games launcher and play Battle Royale, but it doesn’t come with Save the World. Before playing Save the World, you must install it.

1. Install the Epic Games Launcher by downloading it from the official website.

2. Run the installer and wait.

3. After installing Fortnite, buy the Machinist Mina Pack from the official Epic Games website.

4. Validate the purchase and launch Fortnite from the Epic Games Launcher.

5. You’ll find yourself at the Game Mode menu, where you can select “Save the World,” “Battle Royale,” and “Creative.”

6. Select “Save the World” at the left.

7. Start playing!

In Save the World, you can either fight the hordes, called husks, alone or ask a few friends to hop on. As with many story-driven campaigns, you’ll only have basic gear at the beginning. The more you play, the better the equipment you’ll find.

How to Trade in Save the World?

Before you trade, keep in mind that some people will try to steal your weapons. This is possible because this Fortnite game mode doesn’t have a feature to trade items the way other games do. There is a workaround for this, though. You’ll be relying on dropping and picking up weapons similar to Battle Royale.

1. Before trading, stand far away from the other player.

2. Access your inventory.

3. Find the item you want to trade.

4. Drop the item on the ground.

5. When the other player does the same, run towards the other person’s previous location.

6. Pick up the item.

You’ll have to add the other player into your game session before initiating the trade. Make sure you come to a clear agreement on what you’ll receive in exchange for your weapon. If not, you’ll be stuck in an argument at least or even reported at worst.

Some of the cosmetic items in Save the World aren’t compatible with Battle Royale, though. Most of the time the items are individual characters, which is why you won’t be seeing them in Battle Royale.
