Coming from the Ubuntu clan, I like to go from my folder directly to the terminal (command prompt) or the Text editor window. This post is about adding the open-in-terminal option to a Mac file explorer called Finder.

Disclaimer:: This post is not to be taken with strict measures as the only way to do this, there’s no justification as to why this is important rather than I’ve had to run into this issues while switching from Ubuntu to Mac OS.

I am solving my own problem.

This is actually pretty simple;

“here’s a screen-cast of the the process.”

Open Finder

Finder window

on the menu select Finder

Finder Menu

drop down -> services -> Services Preferences

Services option
Services Preferences

A windows shows up, select the shortcuts tab, scroll down, under Files and Folders, check the options New terminal at Folder and New Terminal Tab at Folder.

check the options `New Terminal at Folder`

close the settings window, go back to your finder window, double click a folder and you should see the options (New Terminal at Finder & New ) there.

Thank you :)
