Walker & Co. was founded on November 16, 2012 with one goal in mind: to make health and beauty simple for people of color. Our desire has been to serve the needs of our community for generations to come and we’ve been unwavering in our commitment to do so. Since launch, we’ve developed brands in BEVEL and FORM, we’ve scaled our partnerships with some of the most beloved retail brands in the world, and we’ve even secured an exciting partnership with the Navy.
Today, I’m excited to share that exactly six years later, on November 16, 2018, we signed a deal to accelerate that vision: We are merging with Procter & Gamble, one of the largest and most consumer-centric packaged goods companies in the world.
This is major news. Here’s why:
- Walker & Company isn’t going anywhere. In fact, this makes us stronger and allows us to serve you better. I will remain CEO of Walker & Company and our team will remain committed to growth. We’re still going to operate as autonomously and as authentically as we have been. Continue to hold us accountable to that high standard. We’re counting on it.
- Our values are aligned. Procter & Gamble has long been committed to serving the needs of our consumers, globally, not only in the products it develops and distributes but also its desire to make everyday more than ordinary. They’ll help us scale to be a truly global brand, and leverage one of the best retail networks in the world.
- Let’s talk access: Access to P&G’s giant global infrastructure and supply chain capability, and access to the $2 billion it spends each year on research and development means incredible opportunities are ahead. With P&G’s partnership, that means more products, faster fulfillment and more brands in more places.
- Our headquarters will be moving to Atlanta in the first half of 2019. Atlanta has shown us so much love since launch and has had a significant impact on our business. We want to be closer to our customers, and to people who can help us achieve our vision. So we’re recruiting starting right now. Marketing, Operations, Customer Success, Engineering. We want to hear from you.
Today, I’m proud to say that our team has accomplished many things, and there are so many people to be grateful for along this journey. Most of all, I’m thankful for you, our loyal customers, for trusting and believing in all that we are and do. We couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come and can’t wait to reveal what’s next.
