i stuff words in my shoes. underneath my socks. and when i sit. after a long day. in my dark space. and i can’t sit straight. my back is bent. my neck is sore. my mind is away. my emotions are scattered. my legs weighted. from day labor. and mindless work. when i wonder. why? write? feel? work? do? i pull off my shoes. and words fall out. i hold them. i feel them. they are the positive. they help to see the positive. in me. i am embraced. in peace. it is only then. i can rest. in who i am.
